PS3 Media Center X 0.9 is a streaming server for Windows. The application will install a server daemon on your computer that will stream content to your network. The content that you can stream ranges from pictures in various formats, to music and video files. I don't really own a PS3 to try this but the website only says that the video files supported are FLV files. That really doesn't give this application much use for the video streaming people out there. Flash videos are widely distributed but lack high-definition quality. You can stream MP3s to the PS3 and pictures as well, but FLV? Ok. Now, you would want to get this application if you have a lot of MP3s that you just don't want to move to your PS3's hard drive or if you have a great collection of FLV files that you want to watch on the big TV (Don't think so). The development for this project has been cancelled so don't expect any updates or new format support any time soon. The PS3 can already play most multimedia files so I wouldn't bother with this. The last version of this application is 0.92. This review deals with version 0.9.
